What gift would you bring?

The Wisemen traveled long and came LONG after Jesus' birth, but they were persistent because they wanted to worship Him. They KNEW who He was and what it meant for his arrival.

Today in my 3rd and 4th grade class, we talked about their story and the question was asked: What gift would you bring to Him?

For young minds, their hearts are big. Favorite stuffed animals, cherished books, if money was no object: diamonds, a pair of slippers and even His favorite Starbucks drink were all on the list.

Being Valentine's day and a newlywed, it is a day of gift-giving...I came home Friday and my sweet husband had left me roses and a card with my favorite characters (Hoops & Yoyo). Today,
I received a red tulip from one of the sweet girls in my class along with a valentine from another...
these gifts mean a lot to me...I'm easy to please.
But...if it were me-going to Jesus-when I asked myself and blurted out to the class "my wedding ring".

Yup.
I cherish my marriage and look forward to the time with my husband ahead. I love that he picked it (the ring) for me and that I get compliments on it. I love what it symbolizes and that right now, it's something that I consider most valuable that I could give because of what it stands for.

So now I ask...you don't have to answer, but...

If you knew you were going to visit the King of all creation, the one who created YOU, who brings life and all things good, what tangible gift would you bring?

Very excellent question...I suppose people think I would say all my mickeys...but really they are replaceable. I think it would be pictures. If I had a fire that would be what I would miss the most....all the memories in those pics. And as I get older they are harder to remember.
