On the way back, we passed the MO Capital building. Someday, I'd like to go visit-since I didn't live in MO during 4th grade. I did take pictures from the highway though...Jeff City seems like an enchanting old town.
Then, we got adventurous and called our own experts on the area and found out there was a winery...so we went. I was unaware of the process of distilling wine and learned the differences in white and red and the things the sometimes filter through to get certain tastes (charcoal, plastic, gellatin and even bacteria) and then are strained out. We tasted a few wines and picked a favorite to take home with us. THEN we went to the associated Bistro for coffee and flourless chocolate cake that was AMAZING....maple flavored whipped topping, fresh strawberries, mint and chocolate fudge syrup. The bistro overlooked the MO river and it was a beautiful building (sorry for no pic).
I'd suggest ANYONE stop and eat at the bistro, A-frame (only April-Oct) or to get a tour of the winery.
I included pictures of the snow (and Lake of Ozarks) and from the closed A-frame porch/seating area.
